Quality Educators (I-732). The majority of the committee staff are current or former WEA
employees. Page 6: May, 10, 1999, Schedule B to Citizens for Quality

Citizens for Quality Educators. This contribution brought WEAs total contributions
to Citizens for Quality Educators to $42,445. Page 7: June 10, 1999, Schedule B to Citizens for Quality

Educators report C4 shows an in-kind contribution of staff time and polling from WEA
to Citizens for Quality Educators. (Note: Citizens for Quality Educators apparently began
calculating a new aggregate total for the year 2000. WEAs new aggregate total at the
time this report was filed came to $16,074.20). Page 11: Citizens for Quality Educators May 10, 2000,
report C3 shows a cash contribution of $40,000 from WEA to Citizens for Quality Educators.
This brings WEAs total for the year 2000 to $56,074.20. Page 12-13: May 10, 2000, Schedule B to Citizens for Quality
Educators report C4 shows another in-kind contribution of staff time from WEA,
bringing its total contributions to $64,546.02 for year 2000. Schedule B also shows a
$100,000 pledge from WEA. Page 14: Citizens for Quality Educators June 12, 2000,
report C3 shows a $100,000 cash contribution from WEA to Citizens for Quality Educators. The $100,000 lump-sum contribution was made in addition to over $60,000 WEA had already contributed. Although it is only June, WEA has poured in excess of $164,000 cash and in-kind contributions into I-732. As stated above in 1999, WEA contributed over $84,000 to the then existing teacher pay initiative. These two initiatives bring the WEA total cash and in-kind contributions on this single issue to nearly $250,000. This money comes from WEA members dues and non-objecting agency fee payers, not from voluntary contributions to WEA-PAC. |
